Patrick Doherty
Husband of Highview in the Woodlands Alzheimer/Dementia-Related Care
Unit Resident
Patrick and Lois Doherty have been married for 52 years and have seven wonderful children. When Lois was diagnosed with Alzheimer's, her family was faced with the difficult decision of how to provide her with the best care. Patrick and his children turned to Lois's physician for advice, who recommended Highview in the Woodlands.
Lois has been a Highview in the Woodlands resident since 2005, and Patrick is most happy with the environment at Highview in the Woodlands. "The nurses are friendly and concerned about care for all of the residents. I'm happy that such a friendly and well-trained staff is providing Lois with quality care."
Over the years, Alzheimer's has caused Lois to become less responsive. However, Patrick is happy that Highview in the Woodlands still includes her in activities and programs. "They really seem to work with residents to meet their best ability. When I see the residents being helped and the attachment between the nurses and the residents, it makes me feel good."
A long-time Rockford resident, Patrick appreciates the close proximity of Highview in the Woodlands to his home. "I feel fortunate that I found such a wonderful place for my wife so near my home. I have a high regard for all staff at Highview in the Woodlands."
